01The problem
Pledger was an early-stage freelance platform built to bridge the gap between African freelancers and the gigs they couldn't easily reach, a community-driven answer to a market where trust between client and freelancer was thin. The mantra, “Pledging allegiance to your success,” was the emotional core the identity had to carry.
02Key decisions
- 01
The logo is a hand-drawn abstract “P” built from a perfect circle, deliberately reading as a badge rather than a typical wordmark, since the platform's whole premise was that being part of Pledger meant something, a shared identity users and supporters could wear, not just a login.
- 02
The identity went through several rounds before landing on that badge concept, visible in the logo evolution shown alongside the final mark. A reminder that the obvious first version usually isn't the right one.
03Outcome
Full brand identity and logo system delivered for the platform's early stage.
