01The problem
LADYT Bags makes handcrafted leather goods out of Lagos, built on the idea that quality craftsmanship shouldn't be reserved for people who can afford luxury pricing. Nobody asked for a rebrand. The identity was designed as a gift, because the brand deserved to look like what it actually was.
02Key decisions
- 01
The work started with language before it started with visuals: brand story, brand personality, brand voice, and a positioning statement, built in that order so the visual system had something true to sit on top of instead of being decoration first. Most identity projects reach for a mood board before they've written a sentence about who the brand is. This one didn't.
- 02
The visual direction leans into warmth and texture on purpose, leather tones, hand-craft cues, a serif wordmark with real weight, resisting the instinct to default to generic minimalist luxury branding. The goal was for it to read as Lagos-made, not aspirational-European.
03Outcome
A complete brand identity, unsolicited, now a cornerstone piece of the personal brand and a live Behance case study.
